PRISHTINA, 26 April 2008 - Director of Anti-Corruption Agency Mr. Hasan Preteni attended a two-day conference (on 24-25 April 2008) "Awakening the giant of anti-corruption law enforcement" that was held in Paris, France.
This conference which aimed to find the most powerful forms of prevention and combating of corruption across the globe was organized for the sixth time by the IBA (International Bar Association) or the Anti-Corruption Committee, and was supported by the European Forum.
More than 110 participants from 28 countries of all continents like Europe, Asia, America and Africa discussed for two consecutive days the best practices in combating corruption. The conference participants also had the opportunity to get acquainted with regional and global data on the fight against corruption. Among other topics discussed were also the ones on: - Criminal Investigations and escape from dualism to follow, Responsibility of international public anti-corruption organizations and on the challenges anti-corruption agencies will face in the future.
The speakers in this conference were representatives of the world's most powerful organizations such as OECD, World Bank, Transparency International, United Nations Organization, representatives of many private companies such as Siemens, Nokia, etc., but also by various anti-corruption associations and former World Bank Director, Paul Wolfowich.
